Some Radiant Vintage Violet with a dash of Tink-Her-Bell

Image
Some Radiant Vintage Violet with a dash of Tink-Her-Bell Better late than never right?! Sorry this past week's post is a bit late - such a hectic week for me! But here it is: This week's color of the week is a lovely combination of Two Ulta brand Salon Formula Nail Lacquer polishes.  The base coat color I chose to go along with our Radiant Orchid theme of the year is Vintage Violet . This polish color is so lovely! Vintage Violet is a pale pink creme polish that went on smooth as butter. It also dried really fast too!!! I give this polish an A++ on the fast drying time!  As well, as I look down upon my nails (almost a week later) I notice that I only have ONE chip in my polish! Holy Cow, isn't that great?! Fast drying and Long lasting.  As you can also see, this past week I was in the mood for a bit of sparkle on my nails. So I paired Vintage Violet with a great pink glitter polish called Tink-Her-Bell . I love glitter polishes and this one is making...

Zoya's Radiant Miley

Image
Zoya's Radiant Miley Hi Reader's! Sorry I am late Reader's! But here is this past week's color! This week's color is Miley a Zoya color that is described as being "a pale, delicate lilac creme with light blue undertones. A lovely botanical shade with-fashion edge".  Now, as for the creme part - this polish is THIN. I only put two coats of color on like normal, but it still could have used two more coats for me to not be able to see my nail underneath. This creme polish was practically see-through.  Miley was also a really watery polish! Like super runny. I personally am not a big fan of runny polish, but it did dry pretty fast! As for the look, this polish wasn't really for me. While it looked great with my tan, I just felt a bit off when wearing it. Maybe it'll look great on someone else though! Maybe you?  If you are interested in getting a bottle of this "botanical polish" check out Zoya.com or grab a bott...

The Radiant Phia

Image
The Radiant Phia Hi Everyone! Julep has done it for me again. This week's color is a great shimmering purple! Phia is described as an "alluring orchid iridescent chrome" (there's that orchid theme again, yay!) is an amazing polish.  Because of the chrome-like effect of this polish, it makes it last even longer. Its almost as long lasting as your toughest glitter polish! What's even better is that it dried really quick too and was perfect even with two thin coats of color. Another win for Julep, my nails, and my time!! However, my favorite part of this polish is the fact that it has a slight green shimmer to it when you put it into the light. So pretty! So shiny! and So sophisticated too! If you want to get a bottle of Phia just check out  Julep's Website ! Sometimes you can even find the polish at your local Sephora or on QVC. If you have painted your nails with a great color, show them off! I would love to share your n...

The Radiant Kessie for a Radiant Mother, and other Mother's Day Tips

Image
The Radiant Kessie for a Radiant Mother, and other Mother's Day Tips As everyone is mostly aware - Mother's Day is coming up in just a few short days! If you are like me and have had trouble finding the right gift for your mom, try the gift of pampering! This week's color of the week is Kessie by Julep. It is Julep's polish that is inspired by the color of the year, Radiant Orchid.  This polish went on great! It is now one of my favorite colors in my collection! You almost don't need two coats of color to make this polish look fabulous. It is shiny and shimmery but is also still very sophisticated. I used Kessie on my mom this past Friday when I treated her to an early Mother's Day pedicure. You can purchase this color for your mom (or even get her a polish subscription) at  Julep.com .  Thanks Mom! But enough about polish (AS IF!) let's talk about Mother's Day. Sometimes the best gift you can give a mom, or mother-like figure in your ...

A Sense of Place through Polish

Image
A Sense of Place through Polish I absolutely love this story! (see link below) I personally use nail polish as a way to subtly show people who I am or how I am feeling, so the idea of nail polish representing where I am from would be icing on the cake.  Check out this story about a lady who turned a hobby into a representation of her area where she lives:  Local Woman Creates Buffalo-Themed Nail Polish on WGRZ.com:   http://on.wgrz.com/1j62hRX Check out her polish website:  http://www.gridlocklacquer.com/home.html Let's hear your thoughts on this topic? Lucky Lucky Lavender Radiance

Image
Lucky Lucky Lavender Radiance Happy week of St. Patrick's day! I originally was having trouble picking a purple color that would fit for this week of the year, but then I realized that I had a color that's title said it all!  Lucky Lucky Lavender is a fabulous OPI color that embraces a mix of baby pink and purple. And the title was perfect for this week, which is all about having the Luck of the Irish. I hope you find this color as wonderful as I do! When applying this color, I used a new base and top coat combination by Sparitual. I love this combination because it cuts down on my bottle clutter. So, I used the Spartiual as the base coat, then put on two coats of color, and finished up with the same Sparitual again, but as the top coat this time.  This color by OPI needs two coats to look wonderful, but they don't have to be thick! I put on two very thin coats and Lucky Lucky Lavender  made my nails look amazing! Would you like to get your hands ...

The Radiant Hannah

Image
The Radiant Hannah Hello Everyone!! The week's post is exciting for me!! I had the wonderful opportunity to do another one of my good friends nails. As a nail tech it is important to have a variety of services that you can provide your clients. For my friend Hannah I had the opportunity to give her my special Milk and Honey Manicure.  This mani is great because it consists of a special Milk and Honey soak, warm towels, Milk and Honey cuticle oil treatment, a massage with a Milk and Honey butter lotion, and of course the amazing nail color of your choice.  Hannah picked a great color, too! She picked this week's color which is  Demi by Zoya.  Demi by Zoya is a great purple, cream finish polish that is bold yet also beautiful. When applying this polish I used the whole Zoya nail system - Remove, nail polish remover; Anchor, as the base coat; Armor, as the top coat; and The Fast Dry Drops for a quicker dry.  This color most definitely needed two co...
