Marsala's Angora Cardi

Image
Marsala's Angora Cardi First off, let's just say that I hope Marsala doesn't actually own an angora cardi...that would be sad..unless of course it was this magical bottle of nail polish!! The polish for the week of March 1st-7th is a Marsala spot on color by Essie named Angora Cardi.  This polih is great! Not only does it fit into the Marsala theme like a cat in a box, it also is beautiful and long lasting.  (cat in box) Ironically I had been on the fence for a while over Essie nail polishes. They just seemed to not excite me as much as they used to. So it was refreshing to find an Essie color that got me excited again. In my opinion, Angora Cardi  perfectly matches the color of the year! When applying this lacquer,  only two coats were necessary...and honestly, I think I could have gotten away with just one. As usual, Essie's drying time is just long enough. I personally am not a huge fan of the Essie base an top coats, so i didn't pai...

Radiant Days of Wine and Roses

Image
Radiant Days of Wine and Roses Hi Everyone! Happy October! Fall is my favorite time of year, the colors are so beautiful and the fashion choices are plentiful! This week's color fits great into the Fall season, fits great into our "Radiant Orchid" theme, and fits great into this season fashion.  This week's color is modeled by my friend Beverley and is a beautiful SpaRitual color described as a "dark purple shimmer", called Days on Wine and Roses. What a lovely title for a polish!  Like most SpaRitual colors, this color is a hit in all departments! I myself even need to get a bottle to keep on hand! If you are interested in grabbing a bottle of SpaRitual's Days of Wine and Roses  polish for you collection, check out your local Ulta store, your local SpaRitual dealer or SpaRitual.com .  Really, really, really like this color? Then check out it's matching lip gloss!! How great is that?! Matching colors for your lips and your nail...

Illume Radiance

Image
Illume Radiance I am desperately trying to catch up with myself this week! So a back-to-back post it is! This week's color is great; it is the exact definition of the color purple. This week's color is a SpaRitual color called Illume and it really is lovely. This creme polish is the perfect shade of just perfect purple. However, it needed two coats of color to get there, and even then I wanted to add just a smidgen more. Illume was a bit more watery than I was prepared for and it left horrible streaking on the first coat. But that's ok, most of the second coats made the nails look finished. Only a few nails needed some extra polish. To top it all off I used the SpaRitual Multitasker Base and Top coat. This not only sealed the deal, it also added extra shine to the finished look of my polished nails. Overall I love this color of purple that is Illume, but the polish application could have gone a bit smoother if the lacquer wasn't as watery. But as ...

Radiance In A Haze

Image
Radiance In A Haze Hi Everyone! This week's color of the week was totally not intentional. I originally hadn't intended to do a Matte finish nail polish on the blog...but I must have been in a total daze yesterday. As I stpoped by the pharmacy I saw this lovely purple polish on the shelf and HAD to have it! I guess I never read the bottle though. I never realized it was a matte finish polish. So, I paint about three nails and then look more closely  - huge surprise to me! (a sad one unfortunately...I am not this biggest matte fan) However, persoanl bias aside, this color as a Matte is really a lovely one. After two coats of color, In A Haze  was perfectly smooth and had a perfect matte finish look. Sally Hansen nailed it! This polish not only went on well, it dried fast. In my book, that makes it a win! Now, of course by now you have notiece the other picture of the nails with a nice shine to them. Well, I personally couldn't stand the dissapointment ...
