Marsala and Evelyn

Image
Marsala and Evelyn OOPS! I skipped a week! But no worries - here is the color of the week for March 8th-14th. I absolutely LOVE this color! Evelyn is a gorgeous name, as well as a beautiful nail polish color! It is most definitely going down in the books as a new fave for the Marsala theme for the year. Really, I think I just like it next to my skin tone.   The bright pop of color needed two coats of color - but they dried moderately well! I also finished off my nails with the Julep Freedom Polymer top coat - LOVE.  (If you haven't tried it yet, you should!) By adding the Freedom Polymer top coat, I also increased my drying time. Freedom Polymer claims to leave you with dry nails in 5 minutes, and it does its job! I highly recommend this color for Work and for Play! Julep's Evelyn polish looks great with all sorts of outfits. If you want to purchase your own bottle of Evelyn,  check out  Julep.com . You can also purchase select bottles ...

Marsala and Mary Lee

Image
Marsala and Mary Lee I have finally caught up with myself! Thanks goodness! This oxblood-esque color of the week for the week of March 15th-21st is Mary Lee.  Now, Mary Lee isn't your normal Julep color. This Julep color is a satin finish. Satin finish polishes are much like matte finishes, but they are still have a bit more shine to them. HOwever, they are not as shiny as creme polishes - and thats the point. Satin polish are supposed to be muted and smooth, but shiny, like satin fabrics.  My measly iPhone pictures don't do the satin finish any justice. But it really was a ice color to wear...even though when I took it off it left bits of red on my skin. Mary Lee  also dried quicker than regular polish, but still not as fast as matte polishes.  As for coats of color, Mary Lee  needed two coats for it to be as bold and deep as it needed. Both layers of the polish were thick, despite my trying to make the first coat thin. Overall, it ...

Marsala and Malala

Image
Marsala and Malala Hi Everyone!  I am excited to share with you the second color of the year! For the week of January 11th-17th I presnt to  you, Malala, another beautiful Julep color.  Inspired by the actual person, Malala Yousafzai, the color repressents all that is amazing about her! If you don't know, Yousafzai is a Pakistani activist for female education and the youngest-ever Nobel Prize laureate.  "In 2009, Malala began writing an anonymous blog expressing her views on education and life under the threat of the Taliban taking over her valley. As the Taliban took control of the area they issued edicts banning television, banning music, and banning women from going shopping and limiting women’s education. Once she was revealed as the author of the blog, her increased popularity caused the Taliban to meet, and in 2012, they voted to kill her. On 9 October, 2012, a masked gunman entered her sch...

Radiant Orchid Rae

Radiant Orchid Rae Hi Everyone! We have almost completed out the year! First off, I hope everyone's Christmas and Holiday's have been great. Also, I hope you are all safe in your travels, wherever they may take you! I thought this Julep polish would be a good color to help us wrap up the year. Rae is Julep's nail polish that celebrates Pantone's color of the year, Radiant Orchid. It does an absolutely perfect job! Rae is the color that is the exact match to Pantone's color swatch. Rae went on smooth and radiant, just like I had hoped! It took a bit of time to dry though...but when it was paired with Julep's amazing Freedom Polymer topcoat it was a manicure from the gods! It looked amazing and sophisticated. To enjoy this beautiful classic with a twist color, check out Julep.com , your local Sephora, or even QVC.  Have a radiant color to share? Show them off here! I would love to post about your nails on the blog! Be Radiant! A...

Radiant Beverly Thanksgiving Nails

Image
Radiant Beverly Thanksgiving Nails I am slowly but surely catching back up to myself and am pleased to show you my nails for this past Thanksgiving week! Described as a "Boysenberry Creme" polish, Beverly is a lovely and sophisticated Julep nail polish. I love this color and it was the perfect purplish color for the Thanksgiving holiday.  I was a little worried when I put the first coat on that the color would be a bit streaky, but I found out very quickly that after I put on the second coat the color leveled itself right out! It's a new favorite of mine for sure!  You could wear a color like this one to almost any function coming up this holiday season (as long as your attire matches of course) because it really is a lovely holiday purple while also being fun, festive and still sophisticated and lady-like. This color dried moderately fast - not as fast I would have liked. However, if I has paired this color with Julep's Freedom Polymer Top ...

Radiant Elana

Image
Radiant Elana Wearing this color this week, the week of November 16th-22nd has been super great! Its an amazing color that somehow reminds me of strawberry flavored candies. I have no idea why, This week's color is a Julep color by the title of Elana. Inspired by a certain Honey Boo Boo? Maybe so...This color is fun and cute with a little bit of bling! I love it! Elana went on smooth (as smooth as glitter polish can go on) and the first coat was pretty thin. When I added the second coat, my eyes just lit up! This color was that great! The top coat finished it off and it dried within the hour! Gotta love fast drying polish! This color has been so much fun to wear! I frequent a local preschool to do art, and I got so many compliments on my nails! The kids totally loved this bright pink polish that is embedded with gold glitter. Even the boys thought my nails looked "so cool"! That's the best compliment I could have gotten! This polish is...
