Merino Cool Radiance

Image
Merino Cool Radiance Hello friends! so sorry to be so darn behind in my posts! November has proven to be a very busy month that isnt very welcoming to my blogging needs.  The color of the week for the week of November 2nd - 8th is this amazing smokey purple put out by Essie. In general I love Essie products. They are good basic polish that is long lasting, as well as trendy.  Merino Cool, the color of this smoking shade went on pretty thin and watery for the first coat. I thought for an instant that I might be disappointed, but after the first coat dried and i added a little thicker second coat, the color look great!  As usual this Essie color dried quick and beautifully! I was also thoroughly pleased with its wear, it held up pretty good for not being a gel manicure!    If you are interested in getting a bottle of this Essie polish Merino Cool , check out your local Ulta store, drugstores, or super centers. And while you are at it - g...

Radiant Days of Wine and Roses

Image
Radiant Days of Wine and Roses Hi Everyone! Happy October! Fall is my favorite time of year, the colors are so beautiful and the fashion choices are plentiful! This week's color fits great into the Fall season, fits great into our "Radiant Orchid" theme, and fits great into this season fashion.  This week's color is modeled by my friend Beverley and is a beautiful SpaRitual color described as a "dark purple shimmer", called Days on Wine and Roses. What a lovely title for a polish!  Like most SpaRitual colors, this color is a hit in all departments! I myself even need to get a bottle to keep on hand! If you are interested in grabbing a bottle of SpaRitual's Days of Wine and Roses  polish for you collection, check out your local Ulta store, your local SpaRitual dealer or SpaRitual.com .  Really, really, really like this color? Then check out it's matching lip gloss!! How great is that?! Matching colors for your lips and your nail...

Illume Radiance

Image
Illume Radiance I am desperately trying to catch up with myself this week! So a back-to-back post it is! This week's color is great; it is the exact definition of the color purple. This week's color is a SpaRitual color called Illume and it really is lovely. This creme polish is the perfect shade of just perfect purple. However, it needed two coats of color to get there, and even then I wanted to add just a smidgen more. Illume was a bit more watery than I was prepared for and it left horrible streaking on the first coat. But that's ok, most of the second coats made the nails look finished. Only a few nails needed some extra polish. To top it all off I used the SpaRitual Multitasker Base and Top coat. This not only sealed the deal, it also added extra shine to the finished look of my polished nails. Overall I love this color of purple that is Illume, but the polish application could have gone a bit smoother if the lacquer wasn't as watery. But as ...

The Radiant Phia

Image
The Radiant Phia Hi Everyone! Julep has done it for me again. This week's color is a great shimmering purple! Phia is described as an "alluring orchid iridescent chrome" (there's that orchid theme again, yay!) is an amazing polish.  Because of the chrome-like effect of this polish, it makes it last even longer. Its almost as long lasting as your toughest glitter polish! What's even better is that it dried really quick too and was perfect even with two thin coats of color. Another win for Julep, my nails, and my time!! However, my favorite part of this polish is the fact that it has a slight green shimmer to it when you put it into the light. So pretty! So shiny! and So sophisticated too! If you want to get a bottle of Phia just check out  Julep's Website ! Sometimes you can even find the polish at your local Sephora or on QVC. If you have painted your nails with a great color, show them off! I would love to share your n...

Some Radiant Grape Ice

Image
Some Radiant Grape Ice It isn't quite like grape soda - but this polish is sure great!  This week's polish color of the week is a Clinique nail enamel called Grape Ice . Who knew Clinique even made nail polish?! I most definitely did not, until I started using some of their skin products.  Grape Ice is a lovely pink color with just a hint of purple. The first coat went on smooth and dried really fast too! The second coat went on great as well, giving an all over great coverage. My second coat was a bit thicker, but it still dried in a reasonable amount of time. Yay!  Once I added the topcoat, these nails were good to go! This color is so fun and just muted enough to not be an in-your-face color. It's also been about three days since I painted my nails - and not a single chip yet! That's the way I like it! And to boot - Clinique's nail enamels are created in mind for people with sensitive skin. If you have ever had an issue with sensit...

Pretentious Radiance

Image
Pretentious Radiance Hi Everyone! I am excited to tell you about this week's color of the week! Not only is this polish colorful, it's also good for you! DerMElect Cosmetics has a special line of "Anti-Aging" nail treatments and color that are "The first peptide-infused nail treatments". I put this polish on before I did any research about the products and I have to admit...the polish felt good on my nails! Now that I have done the research I understand that the feel good sensation I was getting was from its specialized formula that is geared towards healthy nails. Literally, this polish is good for "ME" . " Dermelect is the first cosmeceutical line jointly formulated by medical professionals and licensed estheticians." <-- How neat is that ?!  The color I chose was Pretentious , which is a purple passion color. It went on smoothly, and after the second coat of polish it looked amazing! I topped it off with one of my ...

Some Radiant Wisteria

Image
Some Radiant Wisteria This past week I had the great experience of bartering for a nail job. My friend Kim made dinner one night, and in return I did her nails for her. A trade like this can be a really good idea if you personally know the person who does your nails for you. I know that I don't mind! I got to have a yummy dinner and hang out with my friend and her family, and she got to relax and have her nails done! Some people wonder though, why don't I just want the money? Doing nails for me isn't just about the paycheck - its about making the people I serve feel good. Who better to make feel good than the people I enjoy having in my life? Luckily for me though, Kim also loves the color purple! So, I also got the opportunity to feature her nails on the blog for my weekly color post. Kim picked a great color by Crabtree and Evelyn called Wisteria . For the longest time I didn't know what Wisteria actually was...but this character in a play I saw with my mom ke...

The Radiant Regents Place

Image
The Radiant Regents Place I am so excited about this week's color - not just because of the color - but because of the brand I got to use! Nails Inc. London is a brand that I have seen online for a while but never knew how to get my hands on. So, this past week when I stopped by my local Ulta store, I about went ape sh*t over the new Nails Inc. display they had available! My drive for wanting to try this polish was well worth the purchase! I wasn't let down at all! This polish is as great as I imagined it to be! The color I chose is Nails Inc. London  Regents Place .  This charming purple polish dries so fast! I almost couldn't believe how little time I spent waiting on my nails to dry between coats. It was an amazing first experience with a polish. The first coat of polish on my left hand was almost completely dry by the time I finished all ten of my nails.  I know I will definitely be going back to my local Ulta store to grab the Nails Inc. Gar...

The Radiant Elisa

Image
The Radiant Elisa Hi Everyone!! I am excited to share this lovely color of the week with you. This week's color is a Julep color called Elisa.  I love this color! It is a charming light purple that has a subtle silver shimmer! I once used this color on my grandma's nails and it lasted so so long! However, for this color to look great, you have to totally use two coats of color.  If you want to grab a bottle of Elisa just check out Julep.com and purchase the color! By the way, did anyone paint their mother's nails, get a mani, or get a pedi with their mom for mother's day?! If so I would love to share pictures on the blog!! Has anyone painted their nails lately? I would love to share those on the blog too! Be Radaint! Amanda #fiftytwoweeksofnails @theradiantamanda
