Happy Fourth of July

 Hi Everyone! I hope you all are getting ready to have a great Fourth of July weekend! I know I am! A cookout, visiting with family, and day of rest are what I have in store for myself this weekend. 

To get ready for my nice weekend ahead, I painted my nails! (Surprise, surprise!) And here is the simple manicure that I did to help amp up my look for the fourth! 

For the blue color Julep's Monaco, which turned out to be a great blue color to represent the blue we see for the fourth! It went on smoothly and dried quickly! For the red color, I picked out a great Essie color that I have featured on the blog before called Forever Yummy. This color finally looks good on me now that I have a bit of a tan! You can purchase Essie polish at almost any big name local drugstore. In fact, Walgreens has $1 off coupons for Essie polish right now!


Now my friend Sunshine chose to amp her nails up even more than I did by putting Julep's America glitter polish on top of Forever Yummy. What a great pairing! Unfortunately, America is currently out of stock, but Julep has some great Star Dust finishes and other glitter polish that I am sure would do the trick!

Yay! Friend Nail Time!


Doing something like this with your nails is easy and simple. It's also a fast way to add a special something for any holiday. I am going to pair my Independence Day nails with a pair of comfy jean shorts, a simple white tank and a blue and red scarf. Simple. Spirited. Done. With less worry on my nails and clothes, I can spend more time preparing for my cookout!

Keep That Callus First off, a callus is a thickened and hardened part of the skin or soft tissue, esp. in an area that has been subjected to friction. In regards to nail technology, most calluses that are seen in the salon are found on the bottoms of the heels, and sides of the feet and toes. Many common calluses are also found on pressure points on the bottoms of the feet. I always get  them on the backs and edges of my heels.  Sometimes, we notice that calluses cause us agitation or pain, and thus we wish to reduce them.  Have you ever gone into a discount nail salon and seen one of these tools used on your feet? At some nail salons, your pedicurist might offer to shave your calluses with a credo blade (that handheld device that looks like a cross between a razor and a vegetable peeler seen above).
