Marsala and Malala

Marsala and Malala

Hi Everyone!

I am excited to share with you the second color of the year! For the week of January 11th-17th I presnt to  you, Malala, another beautiful Julep color.

Inspired by the actual person, Malala Yousafzai, the color repressents all that is amazing about her! If you don't know, Yousafzai is a Pakistani activist for female education and the youngest-ever Nobel Prize laureate.

"In 2009, Malala began writing an anonymous blog expressing her views on education and life under the threat of the Taliban taking over her valley. As the Taliban took control of the area they issued edicts banning television, banning music, and banning women from going shopping and limiting women’s education. Once she was revealed as the author of the blog, her increased popularity caused the Taliban to meet, and in 2012, they voted to kill her. On 9 October, 2012, a masked gunman entered her school bus and asked for Malala by name. Malala was shot with a single bullet which went through her head, neck and shoulder. Malala survived the initial shooting, but was in a critical condition. A spokesman for the Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, beliving that Malala was a symbol of the infidels. However, clerics in Pakistan issued a fatwa against the Taliban leaders saying that there was no religious justification for shooting a schoolgirl. Her assassination attempt received worldwide condemnation and protests across Pakistan. Over 2 million people signed the Right to Education campaign. The petition helped lead to the ratification of Pakistan’s first right to education bill. Her shooting, and her refusal to stand down from what she believed was right, brought to light the plight of millions of children around the world who are denied an education today."  - www.malala.org

Julep hit the nail on the head though with this polish! It went on so smooth I didn't think I would actually need a second coat.

It also dried really fast! YES! And it's strength, much like that of the lady it's named after, kept this polish on for at least a week, if not longer!

If you want to get a bottle of Malala for your polish collection, check out www.julep.com. Also, don't forget to share your color of the year, Marsala, polishes with me! I would love to post about your nails on the blog.

Be Radiant!
